Recipients of your campaign will be able to click on any of the share icons you've added and share your campaign over email, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Here's a peek at how they'll distribute your email to their friends, colleagues and followers:
Email
The most straightforward of all the sharing options is email. By clicking envelope icon (which replaced the send this to a friend button you may be used to seeing), your original recipient will be taken to a web page that allows them to safely forward the campaign to up to five email addresses. They can even add a personal note to accompany the email. (view image)
Twitter
Clicking the Twitter icon will take the recipient to the Twitter login page. Upon logging in, they'll see a pre-populated tweet with the link to your campaign. They can change the note that appears before the link, or add a note after it. By clicking the Tweet button, they'll post it to the feeds of all of their followers. (view image)
Facebook
Clicking the Facebook icon will take the recipient to the Facebook login page. After logging in, they'll be prompted to type a message or comment about the link they're about to post. By clicking the 'Share' button at the bottom of the page, they'll make this link and its accompanying message visible in their profile. (view image)
LinkedIn
Clicking the LinkedIn icon will take the recipient to the LinkedIn login page. After logging in, they'll see the option to post your campaign to LinkedIn updates, or share with individual contacts.

Recently, social sharing has generated a lot of buzz in the world of email marketing. So what makes social sharing important, and what does it mean to you?
I've heard about social sharing tools but never used them. What's the point?
Social sharing is an excellent way to showcase your content to a wider audience. If you send to 500 recipients and 5 or 10 folks post your campaign's link on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn, your communication sphere grows in an instant. Your recipients' networks can view - and even sign up to receive - your newsletter.
I'm not interested in Twitter and Facebook, and I don't have a LinkedIn account. I'm not sure if social sharing is right for me.
Even if you don't use social media like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, many of your subscribers might. You definitely don't need social media accounts to make use of this feature. When a recipient clicks to share your campaign with their networks, a public link will open in that recipient's Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn profile. Essentially, they are sharing your campaign with their friends and colleagues, people who will likely be interested in the content and may even sign up to receive communication from you.
Our upcoming event is for members only. I don't want random people from the Internet crashing the party.
It's good to know that the social sharing feature is optional, and you aren't required to include it on any of your campaigns. Should you not want recipients to share your campaign with their social networks, simply do not enable the feature for that particular mailing.
I worry that my company's security or my identity could be compromised if my campaign is shared on the Web.
The public link does not contain member info nor access to data stored within your WebbMail account. If your original campaign was personalized, the public link will not contain that personalization. There is no security threat to your company or your identity.
